We value God as our Heavenly Parent. We value each person as a child of God. We value the family as the model established by God to express, fulfill and continue His divine love in this world. We value life as the opportunity to grow our spiritual self by developing a heart of true love.
Worcester Family Church Mission Statement:
“To create a culture of heart centered on God’s love and transform individuals and families through the Blessing of marriage.”
There are 5 practices we utilize to help us grow in our life of faith and fulfill our mission statement:
1) INSPIRE: Receive God’s unchanging love through the word and in spirit.
By receiving God’s love we are transformed. Love is the essence of God; it is the very motivation behind the existence of everything. God made us to love us.
We are able to experience God’s love in a multitude of ways, one being regular attendance at Sunday Service. By setting aside one day of the week especially for our Heavenly Parent, we place ourselves in the position to receive His love and truth.
2) CONNECT: Love others with an unchanging love.
God’s plan for us is to grow to become givers of love as well. Jesus summed it up when he addressed the Pharisees: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.“ But then Jesus said that the second most important commandment was to “love your neighbor as yourself.”
He said that “All the laws and prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Within the church community we are able to practice loving and supporting one another as God’s sons and daughters. We gain strength and encouragement to love our own families with unconditional love. In our church community we also practice loving and connecting with friends of faith through leading and belonging to small groups.
3) EMPOWER: Nurture the spirit through the study and practice of God’s word.
Studying God’s word in daily life and putting it into practice is how we learn to make loving and Godly decisions. Feelings come and go, but the truth and love of God is unchanging. Study and the practice of a life of faith is what transforms us to fulfill our potential as God’s sons and daughters.
We encourage a daily habit of reading God’s words as a family. We also have ongoing advanced lectures and retreats which support us in our life long spiritual journey. We believe in empowering our life through many educational opportunities.
4) CONTRIBUTE: Serving others, each giving as they are called.
Our fundamental value comes from being in relationship with God. God’s nature is one of living for the sake of others, and so we strive to do that by living a life of service. Humility, then, is not thinking less of oneself, but thinking of oneself less. We serve God by serving others. Every person on this planet was created by God for a special purpose. Utilizing our unique talents for His holy purpose we keep God in the center of our hearts.
Through identifying our spiritual gifts, we find the place where we can work with others to make a valuable contribution.
5) SHARE: Share God’s love and truth with others.
As we experience genuine transformation through the love and truth of God, we are compelled to testify about our faith to others. As Paul expressed in 2 Corinthians 5:20 “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to God.”
