A Diverse Faith Community
We are a vibrant community with a big family heart. The Worcester Family Church has a unique atmosphere created by diverse cultures and generations worshiping and working together. Through more than 25 years of growing pains and triumphs, our community has successfully embodied the themes of family, education and community support.
Our Worcester faith community started in humble conditions with services in a small room in a factory, but now we feel proud to have service in a state of the art auditorium at the Worcester State University. The energy that makes our community so unique is growing with the younger generation’s efforts to contribute their talents for the enjoyment of all members during Sunday Service and other events. From high school students singing in the choir, to musicians of all ages, and to activities like yearly apple picking for families, the energy blossoming in this community supports the well-being of our families.
We help each other in small groups, prayer teams, and groups of families that form tribes. Every Wednesday there is Limelight, a weekly program designed to give insight into the Bible and the Divine Principle. Character education that instills values is important to us so we have many opportunities for youth to participate in meaningful activities.
The Worcester Family Church is just one ministry in a worldwide vision to create true love and one family under God. Each family or individual hoping to make a change in this world will be supported and encouraged through the guidance and teachings of our founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon.
The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification
Worcester Family Church is a local ministry expressing the values of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification founded by Rev. & Mrs. Sun Myung Moon in 1996. FFWPU is an international and inter-religious association of families who aspire to live according to the values and principles taught by our founders.
Throughout their lives Rev. & Mrs. Moon established many organizations as a way to address the needs of the world and create opportunities to live for the sake of others. At the core of their teachings, they believe that family is where we truly grow to understand God through the four realms of heart: parental love, children’s love, sibling love, and conjugal love.
Rev. Moon’s lifelong mission began on Easter morning in 1936 at the age of 16. While deep in prayer on a mountain he had a profound encounter with Jesus and was called to continue the work that Jesus had begun. The years that followed were filled with intense prayer, study of the Bible, and serving others. The meanings of Jesus’ words were revealed to Sun Myung Moon through what would later become the Divine Principle. In 1954 Rev. Moon founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity. This was the beginning of his public ministry to bring God’s love and peace to the world.
